Coffee, GTD and Dating

Katie's Diary

Hello, this is Katie.
I have
recently started working as a Project Manager in Kansas City.
Feeling like a typical office person, I would like to share my experiences and maybe a few tips that I learn along the way.

Back in the game!

It's never easy getting back into the flow of work again after a relaxing break. I really miss the hot sun, glorious sand, and sleeping in! I will say that it was nice catching up with my colleagues. I told everyone what an amazing time I had in San Diego!

I also have two new clients who are keeping me pretty busy. I met with them at their Overland Park offices a couple of times so I’ve been using eWay-CRM Mobile more than ever. I often add notes to my projects in the car before heading back to the office. This allows me to record all of the details while they’re fresh in my mind.

I’m hoping to feel 100 % present after a couple of days. Fortunately, coffee is on my side!

Confession: I run on caffeine

I’m beginning to wonder if my relationship with strong coffee is unhealthy. My question today is – how many cups of coffee a day are normal? I feel like there is more caffeine than blood running through my veins! It seems like I need loads of it to keep me going and, on top of everything, two of my colleagues are on a green tea detox and aren’t drinking any coffee! I feel like a complete caffeine addict compared to them.

My self-study continues

As for GTD, I read a bit more last weekend. The main thing I remember this time is some kind of recipe for productivity. You need to follow this workflow: capture, clarify, organize, reflect, and engage. Completing these five stages in the correct order is crucial.

This way, you sort all of your emails into categories such as trash, a task, etc. You should empty your inbox like this daily or weekly.  I like to catch up on this by using eWay-CRM on my laptop while waiting for Janice at happy hour (since she’s usually late).

I’m definitely going to start following this recipe now. I hope it helps me sort things out after the lazy San Diego week!

Guess what!?

I had to leave early this afternoon for an appointment at the salon. You guessed it – I have a date tonight!!!

I’ll let you know all about it next time. Stay tuned!

Yours,

Katie
